The City of New Castle is participating in the national campaign to create awareness of ovarian cancer and its symptoms. Volunteers will Turn The Towns Teal by tying ribbons to light poles around New Castle’s historic business district at 10 a.m., Friday, September 1st.

The awareness initiative takes place annually in September, which is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. The Delaware Ovarian Cancer Foundation sponsors this campaign in its efforts to help save more women’s lives.

The City Council passed a Proclamation at their August Regular Meeting naming September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in the City of New Castle and encourages all residents to participate by displaying teal ribbons and learning the warning signs of this silent disease.
