Notice is hereby given by the Board of Elections of the City of New Castle that an Election will be held on April 13, 2019 for the following offices:
Seats up for election in 2019 are:

Affidavits for Absentee Ballots and State Voter Registration are both available from the City Office, during normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; the deadline to register to vote in the Election is Monday, April 8th.

Notice of Solicitation of Candidates
Interested persons may pick up a candidate packet at the City of New Castle Administration Building at 220 Delaware Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The deadline to file as a candidate is Friday, February 22nd by 5:00 p.m.
To obtain an Absentee Ballot, contact the Absentee Ballot Clerk, Diane Delgado at 322-9804, or in person at 220 Delaware Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Affidavits for Absentee Ballots will be available from the City Office, during normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning February 27th.
Added dates and times when Affidavits for Absentee Ballots and State Voter Registration will be available at the City Office are: Thursday, March 21st from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 6th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. *State Voter Registration is available at the City Office during normal business hours; the deadline to register to vote in the Election is Monday, April 8th.
April 12th at 12 noon is the deadline to request an affidavit for Absentee Ballots from the City Administration office, 220 Delaware Street.
April 12th at 4:30 p.m. is the deadline for Absentee Ballots to be turned in to the City Office. Absentee Ballots may also be brought to the polling place on the day of the Election.

Qualifications to Vote in the Election (from the New Castle City Charter):
At any municipal election of the City of New Castle all individuals who shall have attained the age of eighteen 18 at the time of the election who shall have been a resident of the City of New Castle for thirty 30 days preceding said election shall be entitled to vote provided however that said person is otherwise qualified to register to vote *and has registered to vote as required by the Election Laws of the State of Delaware 15 Del C Chapter 75 five 5 days prior to said election. The Board of Elections shall decide on the legality of the votes offered.
