Saturday, October 29th, the New Castle Court House Museum, located at 211 Delaware Street in New Castle, Delaware, will present “William Penn Day,” a day-long series of activities commemorating the 290th anniversary of William Penn’s Oct. 27, 1682 disembarkment at New Castle, his first landing in the New World.

At the Court House: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. – William Penn display tour
1 p.m. – 16th Century Recipes and Cookery of Guliema Penn. Presentation by Kim Fritch.
3:00 p.m. – English Tea with Hannah Penn- Jean Norvell portrays Hannah Penn, first woman Proprietor and Governor of Pennsylvania and the Lower Counties. English Tea provided by Mercury Café and Tea House as Hannah discusses the origins of English tea and the types of chinaware used. Free but registration required- Cynthia.Snyder@delaware.com
