Separation Day Fireworks

While most of the Separation Day activities are cancelled for this year the City is excited to continue our tradition of Separation Day Fireworks on Saturday, June 12th at 9:30 pm.

The Fireworks will be held in Battery Park.

Due to the lifting of some Covid restrictions and larger attendance allowed in Battery Park, the City has decided to use the same size firework shells we have used in past years.  This will mean that fireworks will not go higher than usual. Battery Park will be your best view of the fireworks display.

Expect road closures (except city residents) to begin around 6pm at 6th and South and 3rd and Delaware. The new parking lot on 3rd Street and the spaces in front of the Courthouse Museum will be reserved for handicapped parking. Bring your own chair or blanket.

This unique event celebrates Delaware’s Birthday, when we “separated” from Great Britain and Pennsylvania on June 15th 1776.
