Storm Update, Monday 2/23/2026


As of 8 am today, Monday, February 23rd, 2026, the state of Delaware state of emergency remains in effect.  The Level 2 Driving restriction also remains in effect for New Castle County.  This means that no person may operate a motor vehicle on Delaware roadways when a Level 2 Driving Restriction has been activated, except for persons designated as essential personnel including operators of snow removal equipment employed, contracted by a public or private entity or designated persons already approved through the Delaware Emergency Management Agency’s State of Emergency Driving Waiver Program. Public Works crews have been out in the City since yesterday plowing and working to clear the roads as quickly and safely as possible.  They will continue throughout the day to ensure the roads are cleared as the storm continues.  Residents are reminded to remove any snow or ice from sidewalk within 24 hours of the end of [...]
