The City of New Castle would like to remind users of the game to abide by basic guidelines that stress safety and commonsense usage when playing, so as to avoid injury or inadvertently committing a violation of City law.

How to play Pokémon GO safely and politely in the City of New Castle, Delaware so you can enjoy your visit and still “catch them all.”

Please be aware of your surroundings and respectful of others.

Keep your eyes up so you can see where you are walking and what is around you.

Don’t drive and Poke (Ever!)

Skateboarding is illegal on public property.

Park in designated areas and don’t double park or stop suddenly in the middle of the road.  Obey traffic laws, such as stop signs.

Please help keep our city and park trash free, and come prepared to clean up after your dog.

Battery Park is open from dawn to dusk.  Please don’t enter the park after dark.

Chasing a Pokémon is no excuse to trespass on private property.

Noise laws apply between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.  Please don’t loiter or make loud noises–our residents and guests may be sleeping.
