A message from DNREC-MOSQUITO CONTROL:
Weather permitting; the Delaware Mosquito Control Section plans the following insecticide application(s) during the evening hours on Wednesday, August 19, 2026:
Application of Zenivex E4 (etofenprox) with a truck–mounted sprayer to control adult mosquitoes in the following areas: In and near New Castle and Delaware City. Near Wilmington, Bear, Middletown, Townsend, Clayton, and Smyrna.
For notification purposes, spraying is planned for the following zone(s): 21, 22, 29, 30, 35, 37, 43, 62, 69, and 75.
All insecticides to be used are registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for mosquito control and will be applied according to EPA–approved label instructions. The EPA has determined that these insecticides do not pose unreasonable risks to human health, wildlife, or the environment.
