Thursday evening, August 8th & Saturday Morning: DNREC Mosquito Control Spraying

The City has been notified by the Delaware Division of Fish & Wildlife, Mosquito Control Selection, that this evening, August 8th, beginning after sunset, the neighborhoods of Van Dyke, Swedes Square, Baldton, Megginson Ave., Hewlett Ave., Janvier Ave., Twin Spans Industrial Park, Buttonwood, Jacquette Sq., Penn Valley, Boothhurst and Lukens Dr. will be sprayed for mosquito’s. The remainder of New Castle will be sprayed on Sat. morning between 4-5:30 a.m.
UPDATE TO MOSQUITO SPRAY – Delaware Division of Fish & Wildlife, Mosquito Control Selection has informed us that they will also be spraying (granular insecticide) in the Broad Dyke marsh, tomorrow morning, via airplane to control the mosquito larvae.
