WATER RATES TO BE INCREASED

Municipal Services Commission’s rate design consultant, Utility Financial Solutions (UFS), recommended a 9% overall water revenue increase after reviewing the cost of service study.  UFS also recommended reducing electric rates, which the MSC approved in May 2020.  The electric rate reduction was a result of lower power supply costs.  The water rate increase will result in an average residential customer experiencing an increase in their monthly bill of approximately $4.00.  MSC is sensitive to customers experiencing additional financial burden during this national crisis (COVID-19 pandemic), which is why MSC delayed this rate increase from the recommended effective date of April 2020 to October 2020.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact the customer service department at 302-323-2330.  Please stay safe and continue to follow CDC guideline’s to protect you and your family.
