Notice of Election to the Board of Trustees of the New Castle Common

Due to the retirement of Trustee Carlo (Corky) Viola, the Trustees of the New Castle Common will hold an election from September 13, 2021 to

September 25, 2021 to fill the vacancy. Voting will be held at the Trustees Office, 201 Delaware Street. Check the schedule below.

Mail-in voting will be available starting on August 30, 2021. Call 302-322-2809 to have a ballot mailed to you, or pick up a ballot at the office. You will need to get your ballot notarized before returning it. Requests for a mail-in ballot will end on September 17, at 2 PM. Mail-in ballots must be returned to the office by 2 p.m. on September 24, 2021.

Voters need to be registered on the Trustees’ Voter List, which is separate from the voting list maintained by the New Castle County Board of Elections. You can register anytime that the Trustee’s office is open, however to vote in this election, you must register by September 23, 2021 at 2 PM. Normal business hours are 10 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. To qualify, voters must have resided in the City since at least September 25, 2020, and must be at least 18 years old by September 25, 2021.
