Street Sweeping Operations Beginning Again in May
The City suspended their street sweeping program at the beginning of the pandemic to accommodate the number of residents required to work from home, and to remove the added stress of having to move vehicles.
Beginning in May the City will resume their regular street sweeping operations and residents are asked to move their vehicles to assist in this important program. Regular street sweeping reduces the amount of pollutants that get washed into the storm drain and ultimately discharge to rivers and wetlands.
The schedule is available on the City website with a printable version for easy reference. This schedule will be posted on the City website, at www.newcastlecity.delaware.gov, at the City Admin. Office at 220 Delaware Street, and in local papers.
