Bike Racks on Delaware Street!
Exciting News! Temporary bike racks have been installed on Delaware Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets. Residents are encouraged to use the bike racks during their travels throughout the City while they enjoy all of the wonderful amenities and events our City offers. We hope this will be helpful for all!
The H.O.P.E. Program
Community Collaboration of Delaware, a local 501c3 nonprofit, is thrilled to announce their newest initiative, the HOPE (Healthy Options for Prevention Education) Program! Thanks to generous grant funding from the City of New Castle, this free prevention program will be available to twenty 7th grade students living within the city limits of New Castle.

The HOPE Program, utilizing Project ALERT’s evidence-based curriculum, is designed to educate adolescents on resisting substance use. This structured program will provide participants with once weekly lessons each Thursday from September 26th through December 19th at the New Castle Public Library. CCD is proud to offer this valuable resource in partnership with the New Castle City Police Department and the New Castle Public Library. *Each lesson will be hosted at the New Castle Public Library on Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm.

neighborhood camaraderie.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between
neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a
true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a
great opportunity to bring police and neighbors
together under positive circumstances.
New Castle Police/Child ID Kits
The NCCP will be offering child fingerprint ID kits. The
kits are completed at home, so the information is
completely confidential. The fingerprints are kept by
the parents or guardians in the event this important
information is ever needed.

The City has received a letter that Sycamore Wine Bar LLC. has on August 14th, 2024, applied with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner for a taproom license with full spirits and Sundays. for a premise located at 208 Delaware Street, Unit C., New Castle, 19720.
Anyone with concerns against this application should provide written notice of their objections to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner. The Commissioner must receive one or more documents containing a total of at least 10 signatures of residents or property owners located within 1 mile of the premises or in any incorporated areas located within 1 mile of the premises. The signatures of residents or property owners must also include the mailing address for the property and the email address (if one exists) for the resident or property owner. The protest(s) must be filed with the Office of Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner (OABCC) at the 3rd Floor, Carvel State Office Building, 820 North French Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. The protest(s) must be received by the Commissioner’s office on or before September 13, 2024. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Commissioner’s Office.
