The ordering period for the Subsidized Rain Barrels has been extended, and the new pickup date is Friday, September 18th, 2026.
- Orders should be placed before September 18th, 2026.
- The $33.40 subsidy applies to any Rain Barrel over $50 and is extended to two (2) Rain Barrels per City of New Castle Household.
- Residents who have already ordered have been notified of the pickup date change. Residents who ordered two barrels and only received the subsidy for one have been issued a refund to compensate for the additional barrel subsidy.
- Pickup will be held at the New Castle City Wharf located at 0 Delaware Street, New Castle DE 19720 on Friday, September 18th, 2026 with more information to come; home deliveries will commence after the event and continue daily until completed.
This unique offer was presented to City Council by the Flood Resiliency Committee and is being offered at the subsidized rate through a partnership with the City and the Trustees.
