DESCRIPTION: Ahoy mateys! A cool new way to celebrate summer is sailing to New Castle, DEL for a weekend full of family-friendly fun and adventure. NJ’s tall ship, AJ Meerwald will be providing two hour morning, afternoon and evening sails Friday, July 27th and Saturday, July 28th.
Sailing on NJ’s restored oyster dredging schooner is such a fun, relaxing way for everyone to get off the grid! Experience the joy of the salty summer breeze, tall ship tales and tidal river scenery! Capacity is limited. So, purchase tickets early. Due to its historic design standards, the tall ship schooner is not ADA accessible.
The Sail Schedule Friday, July 27th and Saturday, July 28th
Kids Tales and Sails: 10AM-12Noon.
Ticket cost: $15 Kids, $35 Adults, $25 Active Seniors. Capacity is limited.
This 2-hour program starts off with a reading of the children’s book, The Greatest Captain in the World! written by the tall ship’s captain! After the story, the captain and his crew begin the sail. Kids can help set the sails and learn basic boat terminology
Family-Friendly Afternoon Sails: 1PM-3PM,
Ticket cost: $15 Kids, $35 Adults, $25 Active Seniors. Capacity is limited.
Saturday evening sail: 6PM-8PM

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon or evening at Battery Park and sail from the peaceful, historic port city of New Castle. Help the crews raise the sails, or learn the ship’s maritime history, or simply relax and enjoy the tidal river sounds and vistas. These romantic sails are a mini vacation away!
