Mayors Proclamation to Recognize September 17th through September 23rd, 2026 as Constitution Week.
New Business:
- Council discussion, possible motion, and possible vote on Resolution 2026-37 A Resolution to Recognize September 11th, 2026 as the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 (Council President Suzanne Souder 9/1/2026)
- Council discussion, possible motion, and possible vote on Resolution 2026-38 A Resolution to Appoint Dwayne Foster to the Planning Commission (Council President Suzanne Souder 9/1/2026)
- Council discussion, possible motion, and possible vote regarding the National Fitness Campaign Presentation and Resolution 2026-38 A Resolution in support of the City of New Castle pursuing a Competitive Grant Application for the National Fitness Campaign related grant applications to fund the project, and commitment of capital funds to the project (Council Person Brian Mattaway and Council Person Nermin Zubaca 9/1/2026)
- First Reading of Ordinance 2026- 568 An Ordinance Amending the Code of the City of New Castle to Authorize the Recovery of Code Enforcement Costs, Civil Penalties, Property Maintenance Abatement Costs, and Nuisance Abatement Expenses Through Collection in the Same Manner as Real Property Taxes (Council Person Joseph Day 9/1/2026)
- The City Council will meet and will potentially vote to enter an executive session for discussion of the following topics:
- Pursuant to 29 Del. C. §§10004(b)(4) and (b)(6) Strategy sessions, regarding involving legal advice or opinion from an attorney-at-law and Discussion of the content of documents, excluded from the definition of “public record” in § 10002 of this title where such discussion may disclose the contents of such documents.
- Following the executive session, the City Council may vote on any matter discussed in executive session.
