The Planning Commission consists of nine members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. They are also aided by a professional planning consultant.
The Planning Commission reviews development plans and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding development matters. The Planning Commission also has responsibility to prepare and adopt the City’s comprehensive plan. Further, the Planning Commission is authorized and empowered to make studies and investigations of the resources and needs of the City.
Meetings are on the fourth Monday each month at 6:30 pm in the Community Room, at the New Castle Police Station at 1 Municipal Drive.
