Orders should be placed before July 17, 2026. Residents who have already ordered have been notified of the pickup date change. The subsidized rate is limited to one (1) Rain Barrel per City of New Castle Household. Pickup will be held at the New Castle City Wharf located at 1 Delaware Street, New Castle DE 19720 on Wednesday, July 17, 2026; with home deliveries commencing after the event and continuing daily until completed. This unique offer was presented to City Council by the Flood Resiliency Committee; and in partnership with the City and the Trustees the rain barrels are being offered at the subsidized rate of $16.60. Separation Day Parade Traffic Advisory – June 13
Date Posted: Tuesday, June 9th, 2026Separation Day Parade Traffic Advisory – Saturday, June 13 The New Castle City Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors that the annual Separation Day Parade will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 13. The attached map outlines anticipated road closures and parking restrictions associated with the parade route. Residents are encouraged to review the map and make travel plans in advance, as access to certain areas will be limited throughout the event. Traffic Control Officers (TCOs) will be positioned along the route prior to the parade to assist with traffic flow and facilitate the safe movement of participants and spectators. Residents should expect limited access and intermittent traffic restrictions before the event, with full road closures taking effect at approximately 11:30 AM. Arbor Day Program – Delmarva Power Customers

Up to 700 trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis, including native species such as Baldcypress, River Birch, Eastern Redbud, Red Maple, and Flowering Dogwood.
